In 2018, the members of the regional council decided to debut a new level of regional collaboration by launching the Mainfranken Regiopolitan Area. This is an immensely successful alliance of Mainfranken political, economic, scientific and administrative entities.

Region Mainfranken GmbH is the responsible body for positioning and marketing the Mainfranken Regiopolitan Area as a premier  location.
